Time has made us melt into each other .

We met thirty years ago, when we both studied at art school. Since then we have shared life and art. We know each other so well, that sometimes we don=t even have to talk to know what the other one is thinking, we both turn around in bed at the same time while we are asleep, and either of us could do each other=s art work without any problems.

Most of our performances have to do with the art system and we work specifically for the Mexican context. More than poetic, our work is sociological. It is almost always loaded with text and context. But there is a line of performance we do basically for ourselves, and it has to do with our relationship. It is a very personal, intimate performance. It is how we play.

About 20 years ago, when we married, we asked our closest friends to help us create the character of Mrs. Lerma. In Mexico, when women get married, they get their husband=s name. We felt that Mrs. Lerma, a new character, was going to enter our relationship and that we had to invent her. One by one, our friends gave her a characteristic: she would be shy, submisive, fun, etc. Mrs. Lerma appears in our daily lives every now and then.

The, in 2990, we made a performace callde FAKE WEDDING 10 YEARS LATER. The day of our wedding the photographer documenting the event ruined the film. The only documents we have of that evening are those documenting the performance, so we decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary with a fake wedding. Again we invited our friends, although this time also our son and our daughter, and we held a performance/wedding.

Throughout this year we have been working on a project called VIRTUAL DUALITY. It is a digital graphic project, in which each of us does the work of the other. This has made us reflect how much one is the other, as well as our limits.

Now we want to celebrate, in our own way, the three decades we have been doing shared and had fun together, inventing our own projects.

Although this is an invented wedding, it most surely has the characteristics of weddings in our culture and might seem strange. But we would still love for you to participate with us. Just like twenty years ago, in our original wedding with our friends, we ask you to help us create the couple we will continue being in the future. While we are working here, we would love for you to give us as a wedding gift a phrase that will describe the characteristic of a relationship (it could be of your own relationship) which most attracts you. Some how we will integrate in into our future performances as well as our life.
