The lack of specialized texts and catalogues makes it, seems as though the artistic production in México is scarce. We have noticed, for example, that large electrography exhibitions come from abroad, but there is not one single catalogue on Mexican production.

Aquerotipo
After our success with Proyecto Mimesis in 1993, we decided to undertake a second digital art project in colloboration with Humberto Rodríguez Jardón. This time we were a bit less ambitious as far as participants were concerned, for, apart from the three of us we only invited Helen Escobedo, Manuel Felguérez , Andrea di Castro and Manuel Marín. However, anxious to work with new equipment we used Canons BJA1 which allowed us to enlarge our works to a 12 sq. meter format.

Arquerotipo was presented at the Academia de San Carlos during a symposium called Otras Artes.

Mimesis Project

In 1991 Fernando Gallo and Maria Antonieta Marbán from Los Caprichos and us organized Projecto Mimesis, a digital art portfolio of prints made with Canon´s CLC500 color laser photocopying equipment which had recently arrived in Mexico. The project was sponsored by Canon Latinoamérica de México S.A. de C.V.
