Pinto mi Raya began its Archive in 1991 when we noticed few books on contemporary art were being published in Mexico, but only in Mexico City there were more than 30 newspapers and many included art reviews and criticism.
We began collecting this material as a specialized clipping service, sending it to our subscribers on a quarterly basis. Today the archive includes over 30,000 texts from the main national journals and it can be found at different libraries such as the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas, la Biblioteca Jumex and Casa Lamm.
In 2004 we began putting together thematic selections of the archives materials on issues such as women artists, photography, performance art and public art.
In 2008 we started working with the newspapers digital editions. This allowed us to include materials from all over the country and to begin our data base. The evident decrease in space dedicated to art in newspapers made us begin to include materials published in some of the most constant blogs and sites.
If you are interested in subscribing to our press clipping service, whether the printed version or the data base, or if you need more information on our thematic selections, please get in touch at
