As we started detecting problems in our cultural system we noticed that one of the weakest links of the chain were contemporary art publications. Although there were several good specialized magazines and every year we saw a few new books printed this hardly represent the wealth of Mexican contemporary art production.

One of Pinto mi Raya´s most important projects has been to integrate an archive with the most important critical essays, news and interviews published in 12 newspapers. We started it in May 1991, and at present our archive includes over 30,000 texts which are available in different ways.

Raya: crítica y debate en las artes visuales is a publication that brings together between 50 and 80 critical texts on art every fifteen days. It includes a summary of important news and interviews. Egoteca is a personalized press clipping service for galleries, museums and artist with the information they require. Through our consultation service the public can either consult our archive o we can trace the information they require.
