Grafica periférica was one Pinto mi Raya's applied conceptual art projects. Its purpose was the record the history of the Mexican electrography art directly from the horse's mouth. It was an oral history type of experience where rather than legitimizing this type of new graphics as we intended to in earlier projects, we wanted to compile material for future researchers. The Carrillo Gil Museum lent us three display cabinets outside their video hall over a 17 month we would invite an artist or a group to present between Nov. 1994 and March 1996. Every month we would invite an artist or a group to present a mini-exhibition of past and new work. The museum was to document all this work to make video-catalogues, which, unfortunately, we are still waiting for.
According to our information this type of print making began in Mexico towards the late sixties, and as soon as Among the artist who participated in Gráfica Periférica were José de Santiago, Felipe Ehrenberg, Mauricio Guerrero, Eugenia Chellet, Zalathiel Vargas, Arnulfo Aquino, Jorge Vértiz, César Martínez, Maris Bustamante, Hilda Campillo, Carlos-Blas Galindo and us. As part of the projects we also organized a series of lectures where Javier Covarrubias, Gonzalo Vélez, Carlos Aranda, Jorge Perezvega and others participated.
