Pinto mi Raya: a radio program with the sound of visual arts

In June 4, 2001 we began transmitting Pinto mi Raya: un espacio donde las artes visuales suenan.

It was an hour long program at ABCradio (760 AM). It was part of the series CONTRA VIENTO Y MAREA. We conduced the program, but had guests (Raquel Tibol, Rigel Herrera, Marta Palau, Manuel Rocha, Germaine y Claudia Gomez-Haro, Guillermo Santamarina, Eduardo Ganado Kim, etc). We also had correspondents all over the city among them artists Elizabeth Romero, Jose Manuel Springer y Luis Orozco.

Just like La Pala and Raya: Crítica y debate en las artes visuales, this was an applied conceptual art project. However, within the program itself we made some pieces. The first one was CONSULTORIO VISUAL: TODO LO QUE USTED QUIERE SABER DE LAS ARTES VISUALES Y NO SE ATREVE A PREGUNTAR. (VISUAL CONSULTORY: EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT ART BUT DIDN’T DARE TO ASK). Each week we confronted our guest with questions which were apparently very simple, that have led to very heated debates. The questions were always asked as though they had been sent to the program by someone, whose name was always that of a dead artist. However, none of our guests have ever noticed.

The program lasted until February 14, 2002.
