THE TREATISE ON BITTERNESS
This performance was presented at the Jardín Borda during the First Performance and Installation Festival.
General Idea:

For over a little of a quarter of a century I've been dedicated to the visual arts and I still

don't understand why, in general, it is such an ingrate profession, even for those who enjoy critical acclaim or economic success. This makes most people who start of as artists not finish the race. Art is for obsessive and stubborn humans.

The result of this is a great bitterness, both among those who insist as well as those who desist. At a social level, this means a waste of many creative minds.

The Treatise on Bitterness attempts to find a way of reincorporating these creative minds to art work, or so that they stop wasting energy feeling little appreciated.

General Description:

A series of interactions with the audience through which a collective image of bitterness will be proposed. These will be based upon group dynamics, questionnaires, etc. which will be documented in order to conform The Treatise on Bitterness.

I did this performance several times, incorporating the different images that came from earlier performances, but the end result of this piece was Por amor al arte (For Art's Sake), a distance education program Victor Lerma and I gave.
